  • Thank you all for the warm welcome.

I am not sure if there is a Trabi Club in America?

I have found a few early kombis that I could buy, but they are all far away from Karlsruhe and I am not sure if they are good cars or not. There is a 1960 kombi on ebay right now that looks good, but I am not sure what a good price price for it would be?

    David

  • Hi mate,
This here: http://trabantusa.art.officelive.com/default.aspx would probably the only Trabant owners club in the states.
    Good luck on your build.
The 60´s estate are from 50euro to 5000euro. It´s all about the condition and the originality. Most of the early Trabants messed up with newer parts, but i think you would build a custom one so you don´t care this. Are you searching for a restored one?

  • lonestar,
thanks for the link to the trabi club.

I am looking for a project car. Something that hasn't been restored or modified too much. Cosmetic originality is most important, I don't care about the mechanicals being proper.

  • Hi and welcome!

  • I live in Stutensee Spöck. Still looking for a P60K, but they are hard to find. I am looking at one on ebay now, I hope it doesn't get bid too high, it might end up outside of my price range.

    Dave

  • Best luck, Dave!
